Meronden Limited - The Persistence of Vision

By tender

This is where Meronden receives a design package prepared by other professionals that includes drawings, specifications and relevant contractual details. A price is submitted for completing the works as specified with the intention of securing the contract by means of the lowest price tender. If successful, Meronden undertakes the site works using its own labour and materials. Its dedicated contracts department handles all contract management including liaison with the client's architects.

Design & Build

In this instance Meronden deals directly with the end user rather than through a third party architect or interior design firm. Meronden takes the project brief from the client and produces the necessary design work including space planning, aesthetic design schemes, etc. A specification of works with an itemised costing and propose working programme is then submitted. If successful, Meronden undertakes the product on a fixed price basis. All design and specification work prior to securing the contract is completed on a speculative basis.

Design Management Contracting

In many cases it is not feasible to undertake pre-contract design on a speculative basis, either because of the extent or the uncertain nature of the work. After receiving the project brief a certain amount of work is completed which could include the evaluation of potential new premises, establishing initial budgets and preliminary space planning and design. Meronden undertakes these works to facilitate the start of the project and demonstrate its capabilities to potential clients. Upon a firm commitment from the client, the detailed design work proceeds, a specification of works is prepared and the project is then managed through to completion.
